Insect Buzz and Frogs © MP3
It is mid-summer, and the sun is just starting to rise on another hot day in the Canadian wilderness. Whiffs of soft mist rise off the pond in front of us. We are just a few feet back from the water's edge in a miniature grassy meadow. As the sun slowly rises, each dewdrop-laden blade of grass becomes jewels of light. Even at this early hour, the air is warm and vibrant with the peaceful buzzing calls of many insects. From the water's edge, green frogs call back and forth to each other. It is a peaceful place with moss-covered logs, calm water, and cool forests. A few forest birds call from the forest's edge as the pond reflects the bright blue sky. At first impression one hears crickets, but with a closer listen, one can hear that these insects have more of a zeep sound than the crisp chirp that crickets make. Insect Buzz and Frogs © features a long fade-in at the beginning and a slow fade-out at the end, so there are no sudden disturbing changes in sound volume when played looped. The preview and song are encoded at 192 kps bit rate for better listening quality. Insect Buzz and Frogs © is a natural soundscape composed of edited digital stereo quasi-binaural field recordings. This recording technique produces a 3 dimensional audio image when listening with headphones.
