A Froggie went a Wooing © MP3

A Froggie Went A Wooing © is a recording about the travels of a little green frog beginning in the evening. The recording starts with the slow and short daytime style croaks of the male green frog. The sound then builds into the full night time style of croaking, which is faster and with more repetitions.

This was recorded on a warm July night. Mist collects in the valleys of the highlands and fireflies wink at each other from the air as if imitating the stars above, while other fireflies twinkle back from the dew-covered ground. Crickets sing a dance of the pleasures of life. The green frogs punctuate the quiet, calling to their ladies, each one trying to be a soloist, apart from the rest. A discrete beaver causes the occasional water swirl to break the silence. Edited Field recordings. Length: 4:54.
