I was up well before daybreak (4 am) in July to record these fellows in a creek that is at the back of my property. My efforts paid off with lovely frog choruses that consist of 5 to 7 "glumps" per call. The frogs sing shorter (1-3) calls during the day and evening when predators are more likely to be around. The occasional water swirl is caused by a passing beaver. One of the frogs seems to have a pretty raspy croak. Could he perhaps have a frog in his throat??
